City Slacker!
We went to Tennessee for Spring break. just returned today. i ate horribly. didn't over eat, just bad choices all the way around. and didn't exercise either. so i am the city slacker of the week! Back to the habit tomorrow! i signed up for a calorie counter here. I am hoping to achieve even more accountability. I am also thinking about doing a 5K for a pregnancy center close by. If i can formulate my plan and get training on schedule, i shoudl be able to do it. The race is on June 4th. If you would be interested in doing it, let me know and i will forward details! :)

FIVE word Saturday
In FIVE words: I AM FEELING REALLY LAZY!
Hope to strike up enough motivation to do at least a 30 minute routine. Not feeling like eating today either. I know I NEED to, but nothing really sounds good or appetizing. hmmm... maybe I will take a piece of fish out of the freezer and make some rice!
No real goals today... other than don't put any "bad" food in my mouth! Its 11:43 and so far I am reaching my goal!

Free Friday
I am taking the day off today. I am not going to the gym or working out..at least that is my plan for the day. I may change my mind. I have no kids with me today-so today may be a great day to just go for a leisure run. It could happen. All depends on how my massage goes....that's right i have a massage appointment this morning!
Breakfast this morning:
homemade granola bar
cup of coffee
Not the BEST meal, but it is loaded with protein and dried fruit and oatmeal. and it filled me up, and has a few chocolate chips in it... I am going to have to sit and do math with that recipe to see how bad it really is. There is only 1/2 stick of butter in the recipe and I substitute the sugars with honey. Oh wait, there is a cup of brown sugar.... drat!! Guess I have to fine a sub for that too!
Goal for the day: DRINK LOTS OF WATER!!

Breakfast Protein Shake
Sadly, i hate breakfast. But on my way to the gym i have one of these...
1 scoop whey protein (vanilla flavor)
5-6 frozen strawberries
8 oz milk
1 huge spoonful of flavored yogurt on hand
blend in the blender and enjoy! Super YUMMM! filling, but not so much that you can't work out. Very energy giving as well!

Plan
This is my plan:
- Get moving every day for at least one hour. And by get moving, I mean getting my heart rate UP! or pushing my muscles more than they are used to. This means hitting the gym at least 3x a week for 90 minutes. I will try to go 4x, but on the other days I have yard work that I am responsible for since Husband is gone.
- Eat more veggies and fruit, up my protein, lower my carbohydrates! This is probably the harder of the 2 tasks mentioned so far. I don't LOVE eating all that much. And if I am going to eat as much as I need to, I prefer to grab pretzels or the like. I am gradually changing my habits, like quitting smoking cold turkey you can't just throw out the pretzels! haha! I have bought peanuts and almonds. They definitely are healthier and more satisfying and filling. Especially almonds! Did you know eating a 1/4cup of almonds 30-45 minutes before a meal will let you eat a lot less during your meal. This is especially helpful at buffets!
- LIFT WEIGHTS! This is my most fun thing to do. I love how strong I feel when lifting. I see results fast and am encouraged to keep going. I like lifting by myself or with Jacob. Though we have VERY different styles on lifting- He likes to bulk up and I like to tone and strengthen. either way its fun to do together! My upper body is VERY strong and muscular. My lower body is muscular but not as toned as I would like -so I will put a lot of focus there doing squats, lunges and several other machines that isolate the glutes.
